Bezier curves
Bezier curve (surface) – a parametric polynominal curve (surface), which plays an important role in computer graphics and CAD. Introduced in 1959-1962 by French engineers Pierre Bézier and Paul de Casteljau. Bézier used it to design a car body, while de Casteljau suggested a numerically stable algorithm of the Bezier curve in the form of a polygonal curve. B-spline is a generalization of the Bezier curve – a spline curve that keeps the main geometric features of the Bezier curve and controls the degree of the specifying polynoms.
