Approval

The process by which a single or several users, that have certain rights, approve a controlled data object (document, a package of documents, a set of data) or changes suggested to be introduced to a data object. Approval may mean changing the status of the object throughout its lifecycle, for instance: data approval of a particular part results in changing its status – transition from the stage of technical design to the stage of production planning.
