Enterprise Resource Planning
The concept grown from manufacturing resource planning (MRP II). ERP-systems are information control systems which integrate and associate numerous business processes related to the companuies’ operational of manufacturing activities:
- Manufacturing,
- Logistics,
- Distribution,
- Warehousing,
- Loading,
- Billing,
- Financial accounting.
ERP-systems are often used jointly with manufacturing execution systems (MES). ERP-systems are frequently called back office systems (related to the document-processing and auxiliary units), to separate them from the front office systems (related to management and company’s environment), such as customer relationship management (see CRM) or supply chain management (see SCM) systems. To a wide extent, ERP includes MRP II, HRM, SCM and CRM system.
