A universal 3D file format - U3D (Universal 3D) was designed by the 3D Industry Forum consortium, incorporating such companies as Intel, Boeing, HP, Adobe, etc. to standardize exchange of any type of 3D data. The industrial consortium also distributes open-code software, used to interpret files in this format. 3D objects in U3D format can be added to the documents in PDF format.
