Since its inception in 1983, Fluent has established itself as a global leader among commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) vendors, becoming the largest supplier of CFD software in the world. In May of 2006, Fluent Inc. was acquired by ANSYS, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANSS), the world’s largest independent supplier of computer-aided-engineering (CAE) simulation software and solutions. ANSYS’ acquisition of Fluent enhances the breadth, functionality, usability and interoperability of the ANSYS portfolio of simulation solutions, and as such, accelerates our progress towards Simulation Driven Product Development (SDPD).
